Maintenance
• Our hinges are greased at the factory for quiet and trouble-free operation. However even the best quality control sometimes misses a few assembly errors. If you can hear any grinding when you swing the door or there is a cracking sound it is likely that either the Pivot Pin is out of alignment or there is insufficient white lithium grease in the Pivot Pin chamber. Check that the Pivot Pin is firmly seated in the bottom of the hinge body u-slot and tighten the Allen screws that hold the Pivot Pin in place. If the mechanism still grinds, remove the Backplate, stainless steel springs and Push Plates and put a small amount of white lithium grease in the pivot chamber underneath where the push plates press against the Pivot Pin. Replace the springs and Push Plates and move the hinge back and forth to spread the grease over the Pin within the chamber. Replace the backplate and there will be no more grinding.
Note: Do not use spray lubricant on these hinges. If the hinge has been disassembled, upon re-assembly, use white lithium grease to lubricate the interior mechanism.
• Never use an abrasive cleaner on the hardware. Many of the components are coated with a clear lacquer that will be irreparably damaged if subjected to harsh, abrasive chemicals. Advise your customer that drying the hardware with a clean, soft towel on a daily basis is the best way to maintain the hardware.
If mineral deposits build-up, mix a couple of drops of a mild liquid soap (such as Ivory or a similar product) into a cup of warm water. Using a soft, non-abrasive cloth, clean the hardware. Rinse thoroughly with clean, warm water and dry.
